What he is saying is that it is completely ******* useless.
But - good news for you....
You can prove him and everyone else wrong by running a ppc mech after the patch and until they patch it again.

Light PPCs are deader than they already were. I hope that 7.25 is a typo.
MASC does NOT need to reduce your turning rate. Leave it at 0 if you must but negative values? Just, no.
And lastly, sigh... I cannot believe you started playing with PPCs, a weapon that didn't need immediate change, and left clan small pulses to rot. Cmon guys I really expected a better job at establishing priorities...

Gauss changes also decreased the time to kill (TTK) since know you can make reliable head shots with Dual GR. No idea what roll LGR should have now. I would like to have seen no cahrging need for them. Damage increase was also not needed.
Map lightning changes are good.
That weapon balance pass has for me no support by the community.

In case we get lost in the details: a community manager was hired with great fanfare and did a goodwill tour, a plan supporting player wants and needs was presented, the first phase of that plan opened a couple dozen threads inviting player feedback --
-- and once again, those responsible for game mechanics are implementing something no one had widely talked about, let alone ask for as organized representatives or even popular interest. It's what they had in their head, and on appearances, what they were going to do all along.
Not a good look.

It is not like we are still talking about a state of the game where player numbers move around in the (ten)thousands (anymore)! We are talking about a game
- that has not been supported content-wise for more than a year,
- that is "administered" by more or less TWO people atm and I it feels pretty safe to assume Daeron and Matt do have other obligations in terms of MW5 etc. on top of that,
- that fights with dwindling player numbers (keep Corona, the up-coming summer in mind),
- that needs it's competitive branch be done and driven by the community itself,
- [insert other valid points here].
If the two men-team being responsible for MWO - and don't get me wrong: I don't envy you for being the personified in-between-punching-balls for issues to be identified as structural deficits and false pretending IMHO - suffers from structural overload, why not take the communities hand for at least once in MWOs lifetime? Although I am still convinced ye folks have a serious problem with expectation management!
I would even dare to say that 80% of the playerbase is not able or willing (me included) to identify the full potential/implications the Gulags proposals implied, because it does not affect our low-treshold and fun-orientied approach to the game by a lot anyhow. And we gotta be fair and true to ourselves in one regard: in the end the top 5% population easily farms the rest of the playerbase no matter the actual state of weapon balance in EVERY pvp-oriented game if placed in the same bucket.
Here we are again, so please help me to understand what you are afraid of? There is a german saying that seems to fit the current situaton MWO is at: In Gefahr und größter Not, bringt der Mittelweg den Tod!
So please stop these "half-arsed-wanna-appeal-to-everybody-and-hurt-no-one approaches" ye wanna keep this zombie alive with! It does not work, as we have seen a hundred times already! No soft snowwhite-kiss will wake this game up again, only a strong dose of adrenalin right into the core.
Yours
A3

No they are not. They are absolutely nothing like ACs. At all.
I eagerly await your 20, 50, and 100 game reports on the PPC buffs.

No, they are not. PPC alredy have prohibitve heat cost, too much CD and minimal range on top of that. They are nowhere near AC and UAC in versality and sustain.

Yes they are they act like AC but also act like energy weapon. Right now you can get a way with sniping and brawling with them. Are they exactly like AC no but very close ammo free hot ACs. Are they the BEST brawling weapon NO but they can make do when they have too

I get it, you are trying to make the sniping weapons more sniper-feeling, but FFS, one needs to be a real life military trained sniper marksman to use these now!
And the nub nose PPC, jeez... look, I'm bad at this game, and I also have high ping so I don't use PPCs and Gauss, except for the Heavy Gauss and the Snub nose. Why? Because those two are the brawling version of the lineup, they let me get close and have better chance to hit my target. If you didn't touch the HGauss, why would you destroy the Snub Nose PPC like this? It was already too hot for comfort, now it is useless for brawling.
Many already mentioned how this game devolves into nascar maneuvers all the time, how am I, or a newbie supposed to survive if all we have is a weapon that gives us ONE chance to make it count, or else I have to wait a day and a half to fire again? And no, the solution is not to mix them with other weapons systems, because the ridiculously high heat they will have now makes them impossible to pair with say, medium lasers for backup, or an UAC.
Oh and the most hilarious part of this all? Clan small pulses and to a lesser extent IS small pulses are still sitting in a corner, gathering dust. I guess now they won't feel so alone, with all those PPCs and Gausses going to keep them company.
If it's true that Chris made these changes as people say, then Daeron and Matt, you need to do whatever is in your power to regain control of balancing changes. You are the ones in touch with the players, even if you don't play the game much, you at least know the general sentiment of the playerbase.
