all you idiots asking for proof that hacks for this game exist are dumb or lazy. literally type into google "mechwarrior online hacks". you shouldnt even need to scroll past the first page.
im literally risking a possible ban to point out this info to you re tar ds just because you are all too lazy to do a minimum of research on stuff your talking about.
edit:when people say "just google it", they are not memeing you. it IS A BANWORTHY OFFENSE to post links to hacks. so google it yourself. pgi is literally blocking us from providing you with the proof. we gladly would, but the mod team WILL NOT ALLOW IT. so go google it yourself. im not encouraging you to cheat, but dont say "you need to prove theres hacks for me to believe they exist" when providing that proof will result in the person offering the proof a ban. weve told you were the proof is. go to it.
I think that this discussion will be more pleasant to read if you do not call other people "
idiots", "
dumb", "
lazy" or "
you re tar ds".

i mean, to be totally honost, they probably arent a rampant scourge in the community. theres probably a handful of people using them rn. the problem is that the game has such a low population that the handful using them are having an outsized influence on peoples experience. 1-2 people in your teir and normal game time means youll see them every few matches. but if you look at the title of the thread and the first page, youll see that no ones saying were at tf2 levels of bad. their saying they exist and some people may be using them. tbh, id be willing to bet that most of the people using them are probably using them in comp, not qp.
but i was just trying to point out that yes, cheats do exist, yes people use them, and yes, pgi doesnt have any method of stopping it as of now. in fact, you cant really say they ARENT rampant as good situational awareness and a steady aim accomplish essentially the same thing.
to continue with the devils advocacy, the only people we know forsure arent cheating are the ones using weapons that arent hitscan.
I have seen many people on this forums accusing other players and calling them "hackers" or "cheaters". Often they added that this game is full of hacking and cheating.
Typically, they had no proof (despite their claims that cheating is massive and widespread in MWO). No screenshots, no videos, no stats, etc.
If they posted some video, it was often some old recording that was many years old. That was pretty strange, because if cheating was so common in MWO, I would expect them to have many videos like from yesterday, last week or so.
Also, there were cases when those people with hackusations posted videos showing supposed hackers in action. Careful analysis found out that everything is all right, that the things in the video are happening as they should:
1) One player claimed that it was impossible to be hit by enemy missiles (in some moment in the game). Analysis of the video found out that he was still within the range of enemy missiles, albeit barely.
2) One player claimed that the enemy player was cheating and using hacked - "too powerful" - weapons that removed a half of his 'Mech with one shot. Analysis of the video found out that the player was not hit by one enemy 'Mech, but by two enemies, both hiting the same location in the same moment. And since the second enemy player was almost out of sight, it was not immediately obvious what truly happened.
I am not saying that MWO is free from cheaters, but some proof is always needed, especially if somebody is claiming that cheating in MWO is so widespread.
