The Marauder got a new Hero variant a month ago: "Blight"

I want the chassis to get buffed as a whole. I'm not talking about a premium.

It would be nice if some of the Shadowhawk Scattershot nerfs got walked back a bit. Be that velocity or spread. Or if not, then maybe a bit more cd reduction.

Is there enough overhead in Bearclaw II to be able to use a UAV? How are strikes affected?

I am curious if jump jets will allow people to just hop over the mountain and run to the enemy spawn point. That would be a very bad thing if you ask me.

The coolshot nerf will curb a lot of high alpha vomit/hag vomit builds for both IS and Clan. That was our goal for it.

Please correct me if I’m wrong but won’t the cool shot nerf be much worse for brawlers than for snipers, and if anything just encourage high alpha sniping? They won’t be able to alpha strike as often from cover but meanwhile brawlers in the fight will also be able to fire less and they can’t just hide between shots.

Unless the stretched out cooling effect somehow helps sustained spread out firing more?

I've been thinking about that. If lights and some mediums can get there with JJs, and UAVs can only be deployed over the dome, that could actually lead to interesting multi-tiered battles. A light fight on top for intel, and the big boys battling below.

Either way, hopefully, it's not like the Solaris Skyscrapers and just a glitchy mess inside.

Way to kill HAGs and kick them while they are down xD. And way to nerf the Scaleshot even more. Regret buying it now. Is the Cauldron all smoking the same thing? Because they obviously don't represent the community as a whole. They try to run the game by analytics which in most cases in most sports is a horrible way to run a game.

Yes it is sad to see OP stuff get nerfed little closer to not so OP. HAGs have been stupidly good weapon to all ranges from 0-1000+ meters since last patch, it is just losing some of the DPS (max and sustained both) with nerfs and gets minor accuracy buff.
Oh noes Scale shot is still the best fast SRM bomber in the game with huge margin, QQ.
So no Cauldron isn't smoking stuff on these two cases at least.

The last time I checked, all Marauders sported 10-11 quirks.

From what I have observed in the game, powerful HAGs replaced many Gauss and AC builds that used to be quite common.

"Scaleshot" was so stupidly OP that it should have never made it in the live game to begin with. Essentially, it has made all similar SRM builds obsolete: Assassin, Hellspawn, Arctic Wolf, Dervish, Trebuchet, etc. Also "Bloodlust" used to be quite common.

Why should anyone take any of these aforementioned 'Mechs instead of simply buying "Scaleshot"?

You clearly have not been playing this game since the beginning.. literally every mech that ever came out had the same business model.. it would be OP when it came out, then nerfed upon release for cbills...

That's standard practice in MWO..

And not only that.. but if they were releasing a mech that had a particular weapon's loadout or playstyle built into it's design.. the balance meta would be shifted to support it..

I know this is a free to play game, but there is a significant Pay2Win element in it..

Even so, it's still one of the less pay2win MMO games out there...

This is just false and dumb anyways. If the point is to make P2W mechs to sell it makes no sense to nerf them since they still sell. Majority of legends havent been op on release anyway.

Also "literally every mech that ever came out" LOL

VPR-DI (LGD):
Removed -20% Missile spread from SO6 >>>>>>>> this is ok
Reduced cSRM ammo bonus to +240 per ton in SO8 (from +300) >>>>>>>> this is too much nerf
Added +240 cSRM+Artemis ammo per ton bonus to SO8

I don't know pgi... maybe it's time to remove it from the game, since it doesn't look anything like the chassis I bought, soon it will look like a Jenner but with more tonnage...

Yes, this is nerf, but its not a fatal nerf. This mech is the only most overpowered machine in the game - with pretty mediocre skill it can easily do 1000dmg every match, and with really good skill it can just delete pretty anything on battlefield without even compromising itself. Its just too powerful and able to use shotgun-like weapon with ability to target exact component from 300+m range. Removing weapon spread bonus will force it to get closer to its target so target will have chance to at least fire back to it. I think its complitely fair

+1 HSL STD Laser

I'm guessing that applies to: ==> Binary Laser (BL), Medium Laser (ML), & Small Laser (SL).
(Note: Small Laser (SL) actually does not have Ghost Heat, but I'm putting it in above STD Laser list for clarity).

Don't think so. A Large Laser would also still be considered a STD Laser, but a Binary Laser is no longer considered a Large Laser for the quirks.

The massive nerf to coolshots is ridiculous. This renders them completely useless. There is NO face-on battle situation (which is where you need these the most) in which you will not have your Mech completely destroyed in "7" seconds waiting for it to cool down. This also negates the -25% nodes in the skill tree. Apparently nothing was learned from the massive nerfing debacle that nearly destroyed MWO years ago. For those advocating this, enjoy your 7-second deaths.

If this is the kind of game play destroying ideas that the Cauldron are coming up with, it's time to remove them from the decision making process. Coolshots are barely useful as they are now. After this, there's no point in spending money to carry them.

Correct, just STD Laser quirks, not those for singled out for only LL, per the Frost quoted piece below

As for Binaries, the effective change is that they are no longer impacted by large laser quirks and are now impacted by STD laser quirks. We've shuffled some mechs around, the big thing is that the Stalker 4N can no longer fire 4 BLC, it can only fire 3 before ghost heat.

Also appears something is missing from the patch notes...?

So that's why when I play with Tier 1 comp groups in Faction warfare nobody takes HAGs and people complain about how useless they are? Seriously the things said in this forum are not what are said IN GAME. So the Tier 3,4,5's may be complaining that HAGS are OP but not the Tier 1's...at least not the various ones I play with. Scaleshot is behind a pay window. Pay to win.

Gotta be a lawyer to understand this.

In my head standard lasers are small lasers, medium lasers, large lasers. As Binary Lasers where introduced not so long ago and are pretty new, in my head they are not Standard at all.
